Special Education - MS
This innovative program prepares special and general educators to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in their schools.
The master’s program teaches the evidence-based multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS), including response to intervention (RtI), as well as positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) to enable special educators to align academic standards and behavioral expectations. If implemented with fidelity and sustained over time, these methods have the potential to accelerate the performance of every student to achieve and/or exceed proficiency.
Classes are offered in the evenings to accommodate teachers’ work schedules during winter and fall semesters. Spring/summer classes are offered during the day and are adjusted to school calendars for working professionals.
