BYU EPP Student Teaching Requirements
BYU EPP Student Teaching Requirements
At BYU, student teaching is a capstone experience that places full-time BYU students as teachers in classrooms and requires the same commitment and accountability to K-12 learners as fully-employed teachers. Therefore, student teachers are required to keep contracted teacher days and hours from the beginning to the end of the BYU semester. Absences must be approved in advance and may result in additional time added to the experience. Students are also expected to do extracurricular activities as appropriate for the content area and must meet all required state competencies as measured by BYU assessment.
